Earl S. Morgan Sr.
MORGAN SEBASTIAN, Fla. - Earl S. Morgan Sr., 92, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. He was born in New Orleans, La., and had lived in Sebastian for the past 11 years. He retired in 1975 as a meteorologist for the National Weather Bureau, serving in Winston-Salem, N.C., for nine years and in Orlando for 25 years. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was an avid golfer, playing at Dubsdread Country Club in Orlando and Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach. Having been orphaned at 3 years old, he loved all children and taught kids to swim for many years and coached Little League baseball in Audubon Park of Orlando. He dearly loved his wife of 62 years and all of his family. He kept us laughing through the years, and most importantly, he was a devout Christian, believing that strong prayer and reading the Bible daily were the keys to life. He was predeceased by his son, Nicky Hemrick Morgan; his two brothers, Emile and Fred Morgan; and his sister, Dorothy Coignet. Survivors include his wife, Lottie Morgan of Sebastian; sons, Earl Morgan Jr. of Deltona and Charles Matthew Morgan of Orlando; daughter, Barbara Morgan Schwin of Vero Beach; nephew Steven Coignet of Biloxi, Miss.; niece Anne Savoy of Houma, La.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at First Baptist Church of Wabasso. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hibiscus Children' s Foundation, Attn: Ms. Astrup, P.O. Box 1742, Vero Beach, FL 32961. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home of Sebastian.
