ZÜRICH Financial Services Group (parent of our insurer Empire Indemnity Insurance) net profit for first-half of 2006 is up 9% to 1.95 7 billion US dollars.
Zurich’s business operating profit for the half reached US dollars 2.847 billion, a 24% increase.

As you may be aware one of our sister condominium Associations, was insured by a member of the Poe Group which ran into financial difficulties and has been taken over by Citizens Insurance. Fortunately this Association received its insurance claims money shortly before their insurer collapsed. While we have been waiting for an interminable period to receive what we believe is a fair settlement from Empire Insurance at least we can take some comfort in the fact is that their group is, financially, very strong.
