PELICAN POINTE II SURVIVES "WILMA"
INITIAL REPORTS FROM OUR CONDOMINIUM COMPLEX INDICATE WE
SUFFERED UPROOTED TREES, NUMEROUS LIMBS DOWNED, AND SOME
RAINWATER ENTRY TO SOME UNITS. POWER WAS ONLY OUT FOR ABOUT
TWO HOURS AND CELL PHONE SERVICE WAS DISRUPTED. SOME TYVEK WAS

ITS CONDITION FOLLOWING THIS MAJOR HURRICANE. WRITE UP YOUR FINDINGS

THESE ARE THE LOVELY LADIES WHO DO THE PLANTINGS AROUND PELICAN POINTE. THEY THANK ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE FUND TO BUY PLANTINGS. AND LOOK FORWARD TO MORE CONTRIBUTIONS. THEY ARE REALLY VERSATILE, HAVING BUILT THE BLOCK CURBING ON WHICH THEY HAVE THEIR FEET PLACED, NO SMALL FEAT! LATER THEY WILL PLACE SOME NICE PLANTS IN THESE AREAS WHICH HAVE BEEN PREPARED SO NICELY. THE REGULAR CONCRETE CURBING KEPT GETTING BROKEN BY TRUCKS MAKING TURNS AROUND THIS DIVIDING ISLAND. THE NEW SETUP ALLOWS MORE TURN SPACE FOR THE BIG TRUCKS. LEFT TO RIGHT: PAT RYAN, MARION CONLEY, CLAUDIA KRACHT

REVISED INFORMATION: NEW CONTACT PERSON: RHONDA ENGLEHART AT 772-473-0650 AT SCS.
WE WILL SOON POST MORE INFORMATION ON SERVICES SCS CAN PROVIDE TO UNIT OWNERS.
FOR THOSE WHO HAD HURRICANE DAMAGE TO THEIR KITCHENS OR BATHROOMS-
THIS IS THE FUN PART OF THIS WHOLE
LONG, AND DIFFICULT PROCESS!
I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE SAMPLES BROUGHT INTO THE CLUBHOUSE
SHOWING SOME OF THE NICE WOOD CABINET DOOR MATERIALS AND ALSO
SOME SAMPLES OF THE CULTURED COUNTERTOP MATERIALS. WE PLACED SOME OF THE
COUNTERTOP SAMPLES NEXT TO THE WOODEN CABINET DOORS TO GIVE YOU AN
IDEA OF HOW THEY LOOK TOGETHER. SINCE THIS IS DEFINITELY A PERSONAL TASTE
MATTER AND YOU WILL BE DECIDING THAT ON YOUR OWN. FRANK MARSHALL

ON THE LEFT ARE SAMPLES AGAINST THE DARKER WOOD CABINET DOOR WHICH LOOKS VERY NICE TO ME.
ON THE RIGHT ARE MANY SAMPLES OF THE COUNTERTOP MATERIAL WHICH HAVE A WIDE RANGE OF COLORS TO CHOOSE FROM.

TO THE LEFT THE THREE WOOD SAMPLES WHICH WERE BROUGHT TO THE CLUBHOUSE ARE SHOWN.

NOTE: TO DISCUSS ANY OF YOUR CABINET NEEDS OR QUESTIONS CALL RHONDA ENGLEHART AT SCS (772) 473-0650

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE BOARD MEMBERS. THE CABINETS ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY NOT THE ASSOCIATION'S. YOU ARE FREE TO GET YOUR CABINETS DONE BY ANY RELIABLE LICENSED CONTRACTOR, BUT SCS SHOULD BE ABLE TO FURNISH THESE AT A GOOD PRICE IF A NUMBER OF OWNERS PURCHASE FROM THEM. THE CABINETS ARE MANUFACTURED IN MELBOURNE.

HERE ARE PHOTOS OF THE SAMPLE BATHROOM VANITIES AND SINKTOPS ON DISPLAY NOW AT THE CLUBHOUSE. THESE ARE 19" DEEP WHILE THE ONES ORIGINALLY INSTALLED BY THE DEVELOPER WERE 21" DEEP. THEY ARE 31" WIDE, THE SAME AS THOSE ORIGINALLY INSTALLED (WHICH IS THE REALISTIC MAXIMUM THAT CAN FIT INTO THE SPACE BETWEEN THE WALL AND TOILET TANK IN OUR BATHROOMS.) IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET HIGHER UNITS IF YOU ARE TALLER AND PREFER THIS FOR COMFORT IN USE. HOME DEPOT AND LOWES ALSO HAVE A VARIETY OF MODELS YOU CAN CHECK OUT SOME WITH NICE SLIDING DRAWERS FOR STORAGE.
THE WORK IN THE CLUBHOUSE CONTINUES. THE PHOTO BELOW SHOWS THE FRAMING INSTALLED TO HOLD THE CEILING TILES IN PLACE.
ABOVE RIGHT IS THE LABEL ON THE ARMSTRONG TILE BOXES IN THE CLUBHOUSE WAITING TO BE PUT IN PLACE.
NOTE THEY ARE MADE OF ACOUSTICAL MATERIAL AND SHOULD HELP WITH THE NOISE LEVEL PROBLEMS WE HAD IN THE PAST. :)

REMEMBER LEFT CLICK ON PHOTO TO ENLARGE IT. CLICK ON "BACK" TO RETURN TO ORIGINAL SIZE.

THIS SHOWS SAMPLES OF LG HI-MACS ACRYLIC SOLID SURFACE
COUNTERTOP MATERIALS IF YOU CLICK ON "COLORS" ,THEN
BELOW THAT, SELECT "COLOR SELECTION." IF YOU CLICK ON A
COLOR SAMPLE YOU LIKE IT WILL SHOW YOU A PHOTO OF THAT
MATERIAL ON A CABINET. THE COLOR ON THIS MATERIAL GOES
THROUGH THE WHOLE THICKNESS, IT IS NOT JUST ON THE SURFACE.
IT HAS A 15 YEAR LIMITED GUARANTY.
NO, IT IS NOT A MR. AMERICA CONTEST!!
THESE ARE THE HEARTY VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL DO
A SURVEY FOR THE ASSOCIATION TO DETERMINE WHERE WE ARE
ON REPAIRS TO EVERY BUILDING AND UNIT.
PLEASE WELCOME THEM WITH OPEN ARMS WHEN THEY
ARRIVE AT YOUR UNIT. THEY ARE DOING AN IMPORTANT JOB FOR YOU!
THIS WILL ENABLE US TO GET THE FOCUS ON THE WORK TO BE
ACCOMPLISHED, AND LATER WHEN ALL WORK IS SUPPOSED TO BE COMPLETED
A RESURVEY CAN BE DONE AND LISTS COMPARED TO CONFIRM
THAT EVERYTHING HAS BEEN COMPLETED BEFORE GIVING
FINAL PAYMENTS TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

LEVELING OF FOUNDATION SLAB
THE GUTTER DOWNSPOUTS WERE BLOWN AWAY ON A NUMBER OF
BUILDINGS WHICH CREATED A WATERFALL LIKE CASCADE OF WATER
DROPPING FROM ROOF LEVEL TO THE SANDY GROUND AND CONSEQUENT
WASHING AWAY OF THE SOIL AND CRACKING OF THE FOUNDATION SLAB.
TO RE-LEVEL THE FOUNDATION SLAB BREVARD GROUTING COMPANY IS DRILLING POST HOLES,
POURING MORTAR IN THESE HOLES, INSERTING REINFORCING RODS (RE-BARS) WITH A 90 DEGREE
BEND INTO THE MORTAR, AND THEN FILLING THE HOLE TO A LEVEL ABOVE THE RE-BAR. AFTER
THE MORTAR HAS SET FIRMLY HYDRAULIC JACKS WILL BE PLACED ON EACH FOUNDATION POST
AND THE FOUNDATION SLAB WILL BE VERY CAREFULLY JACKED BACK TO A LEVEL POSITION. THEN
THE HYDRAULIC JACKS WILL BE REPLACED WITH MECHANICAL (SCREW) JACKS. THESE SCREW
JACKS WILL THEN BE ENCASED IN MORTAR AND THE HOLES RECOVERED TO NORMAL LEVEL. THE
BUILDING BEING WORK UPON IN THE PHOTOS BELOW IS 5700 PELICAN POINTE DRIVE. A NUMBER
OF OTHER BUILDINGS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE AND TWO MORE ARE TO BE COMPLETED.

AT LEFT POWER AUGUR IS USED IN DRILLING OF LARGE POST HOLE UNDER EDGE OF FOUNDATION SLAB.

IN THE PHOTO ABOVE RE-ROD IS PLACE INTO MORTAR FOR SUPPORT STRENGTH WHEN JACK IS USED,

THESE PHOTOS SHOW PUMPING OF MORTAR INTO POST HOLE (ABOVE TOP) AND THEN BRINGING MORTAR TO A LEVEL ABOVE THE RE-BAR (ABOVE. LOWER PHOTO ) WHICH WILL ALLOW PROPER PLACEMENT OF THE HYDRAULIC JACK FOR LIFTING THE SLAB FOUNDATION BACK INTO LEVEL POSITION,
