LEVELING OF FOUNDATION SLAB
THE GUTTER DOWNSPOUTS WERE BLOWN AWAY ON A NUMBER OF
BUILDINGS WHICH CREATED A WATERFALL LIKE CASCADE OF WATER
DROPPING FROM ROOF LEVEL TO THE SANDY GROUND AND CONSEQUENT
WASHING AWAY OF THE SOIL AND CRACKING OF THE FOUNDATION SLAB.
TO RE-LEVEL THE FOUNDATION SLAB BREVARD GROUTING COMPANY IS DRILLING POST HOLES,
POURING MORTAR IN THESE HOLES, INSERTING REINFORCING RODS (RE-BARS) WITH A 90 DEGREE
BEND INTO THE MORTAR, AND THEN FILLING THE HOLE TO A LEVEL ABOVE THE RE-BAR. AFTER
THE MORTAR HAS SET FIRMLY HYDRAULIC JACKS WILL BE PLACED ON EACH FOUNDATION POST
AND THE FOUNDATION SLAB WILL BE VERY CAREFULLY JACKED BACK TO A LEVEL POSITION. THEN
THE HYDRAULIC JACKS WILL BE REPLACED WITH MECHANICAL (SCREW) JACKS. THESE SCREW
JACKS WILL THEN BE ENCASED IN MORTAR AND THE HOLES RECOVERED TO NORMAL LEVEL. THE
BUILDING BEING WORK UPON IN THE PHOTOS BELOW IS 5700 PELICAN POINTE DRIVE. A NUMBER
OF OTHER BUILDINGS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE AND TWO MORE ARE TO BE COMPLETED.

AT LEFT POWER AUGUR IS USED IN DRILLING OF LARGE POST HOLE UNDER EDGE OF FOUNDATION SLAB.

IN THE PHOTO ABOVE RE-ROD IS PLACE INTO MORTAR FOR SUPPORT STRENGTH WHEN JACK IS USED,

THESE PHOTOS SHOW PUMPING OF MORTAR INTO POST HOLE (ABOVE TOP) AND THEN BRINGING MORTAR TO A LEVEL ABOVE THE RE-BAR (ABOVE. LOWER PHOTO ) WHICH WILL ALLOW PROPER PLACEMENT OF THE HYDRAULIC JACK FOR LIFTING THE SLAB FOUNDATION BACK INTO LEVEL POSITION,
