FURTHER PROGRESS ON OUR RECOVERY EFFORTS
CAPTAIN FIRE INSPECTOR, JEFF DIGGS AND FIRE INSPECTOR JOHN DURAN VISITED PELICAN
POINTE THIS WEEK AND EXPLAINED TO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL AND
INSULATION/SHEETROCK INSTALLER CONTRACTORS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE RETARDANCY
TO BE UTILIZED ON OUR BUILDINGS BEING REPAIRED. BELOW IS A PHOTO SHOWING A PENETRATION
IN THE UPPER FLOOR WHICH MUST BE SEALED WITH A SPECIAL PRODUCT THAT EXPANDS WITH THE
HEAT OF A FLAME AND CLOSES OFF AN AREA WHERE A PVC PIPE COLLAPSES DUE TO HEAT. THIS IS
MEANT TO RETARD THE FIRE FROM SPREADING TOO QUICKLY.

BELOW IS A PHOTO OF 9660 ESTUARY WAY WHICH HAS THE HARDIE BOARD CLAPBOARD SIDING INTALLED OVER THE TYVEK AND PLYWOOD SHEATHING. NOTE THE NEW MORE STORM RESISTANT WINDOWS HAVE ALSO BEEN INSTALLED. THIS WORK IS CONTINUING ON EACH BUILDING THAT HAS HAD ITS GABLE END REBUILT. THE HEAVY RAINS OF LATE HAVE SLOWED THE PROGRESS OF THIS WORK SOMEWHAT.
