WE ARE SADDENED TO REPORT THAT A GOOD NEIGHBOR FROM PELICAN POINTE HAS GONE ON TO A BETTER PLACE AFTER A VERY ACTIVE, FULFILLING, AND LONG LIFE.

Obituary
PETER ANTHONY FRONTERA Peter Anthony "Pete" Frontera, 90,
passed peacefully Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Kobacker House
in Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 12, 1921 in
Clarendon, Pennsylvania to the late John and Marie Frontera,
both from Cortale, Italy. He served with the 15th Air Force
during WWII, flying over 18 missions in the European theater.
After the war, he attended Bucknell University where
he met his wife, Louise Garard. They married in 1951
and resided in Wilmington, Delaware, where he owned and
operated Penny Hill Delicatessen for more than 20 years.
In 1976, they moved to Sebastian, Florida, where he opened
The Sandwich Shop. He "retired" in 1989, taking a part-time job
at Walgreens, where he worked until he was 85 years old.
He was a member of the Optimist Club in Wilmington,
serving as Lt. Governor, the Elks Lodge of Wilmington,
and Kiwanis of Sebastian. He was an avid golfer and
bridge player his entire life. He is preceded in death
by brothers Frank, Edward, and Dominic, and sister
Marian Fago. He is survived by his wife Louise of 61 years,
brother Joseph Frontera of Warren, PA;
daughter Lucy Frontera (Bill Rives) of Columbus, Ohio;
daughter Alice Frontera of Dayton, Ohio; granddaughters
Sarah Rives (Jeffrey) Horn of Houston, Texas,
and Holly Rives of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces and
nephews. Visitation and memorial service will be at
3:00 p.m., October 13, 2012, at SHAW-DAVIS Funeral
Home, Clintonville. In honor of the excellent care
he received, donations may be made in his memory
to Kobacker House in Columbus Ohio.
